Ike continued

I spoke to my dad tonight just about 20 minutes ago. He said it was windy but no real rain yet. He made it sound like he was going off to bed tonight. I figured this would be the last time I talk with him for about a week as I am assuming the power is going to be out for at least 1 week. I just enabled his text message feature, his cell phone # is 281-620-1286. Lois knows how to text message so I am going to test it out soon and send him some messages. I figure that is the only contact I will have with him. Here is the latest email from our city of League City.
Storm continues to track near Galveston and northwestward. We can expect 39 mph or greater winds until around 1p Saturday. Hurricane force winds of 74 mph or greater until 0600am Saturday and 58 mph winds until 10am Saturday. Storm surge forecasts continue to be to 20 feet. There are numerous power outages through out the City.
Fire/EMS & PD responses have been limited due to the sustained winds and personnel are standing down until the winds become more favorable for personnel to operate. Crews will assess the call prior to response.

We are just watching some news and trying to relax, I really don't expect to sleep much tonight. I am going to sign off for now and just be with my cousins and Glenn. When we get through all of this I am really going to give my dad a piece of my mind, a big one. We love all of you. No rain in Katy, yet, just some nice cool winds. Peace!
